Church Planting -
Current Projects
TLC church began with a team of
five. After six months the church grew to fifteen. Then God began to
perform a number of incredible physical healings. The result was
growth which has not stopped. Today the TLC church is filled to
overflowing!
Along with numerical growth came
spiritual maturity, Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and a call to full
time ministry. Several TLC members are eager to start bible school
training as soon as possible!
TLC has a dream to purchase the
shop house they now rent plus the two connecting sections where the
Durenes plan to establish the first Assemblies of God Bible School in
Chiangmai.
In June, 2002, the Assemblies of
God Missionary Fellowship (Thailand) agreed to make this facility an
official project of the Thai field. The estimated cost will be
$150,000. The estimated returns will be immeasurable!
The People
In March of 2000 Mark and Janie
worked with Thaweesak Intasak in planting the TLC church on the campus
of Chiangmai University. A Minnesota church provided the initial
evangelistic team.
Six months later they sent a
carpenter team. Before the end of the year they sent another
evangelistic team and left behind a worker who served as our
Missionary Associate for the next 15 months.
Financially, they supported the pastor for the first two years, and
provided the rent for the first four years.
